Shade Tree Commission

The Shade Tree Commission has exclusive custody and control of street trees in the Borough and grants authority to tree owners to plant, remove, maintain and protect the trees on the streets of the Borough.

Whenever a property owner wishes to remove and/or plant trees along the streets of the Borough, it is necessary to obtain written permission from the Commission in advance of proceeding with the removal/planting. Forms for this purpose are available in the Borough's Code Enforcement Office.  Contact them at 902-3077.

Meetings of the Shade Tree Commission are typically held on the first Wednesday of each month at 9:00 a.m. in the Conference Room on the second floor of the Borough Hall, 60 W. Emaus Street, Middletown, PA.

Members of the Commission are appointed by Borough Council to serve staggered five-year terms. The current members are:
