Homestead Program Executive Committee

During the 1970s and 1980s, the Borough received funding through a number of Federal programs. Some of these funds were used to provide loans or grants to owners of property within the Borough to rehabilitate and/or acquire their homes. In the case of the loans, the money that was repaid was set aside to establish a special revolving account for the purpose of continuing to provide low-interest loans to low and moderate income property owners within the Borough. This program is still in existence today. The maximum loan amount available is $10,000.00 at 1% or 2% interest based upon income levels for the household. Loan approvals/rejections are determined by the Executive Committee, which meets on an as-needed basis. Call 902-3069 for more information.

Members to the Executive Committee are appointed by Borough Council to staggered four-year terms. The following are the members of the Executive Committee:

Rachelle Reid
William Taxweiler
George W. Elberti, III
John Garver
Thomas Foreman

Application forms and additional information pertaining to this program are available through the Borough Secretary's Office, second floor of the Borough Hall, 60 W. Emaus Street, Middletown, PA or by calling the Office at 902-0430.
