APPLICATIONS BEING ACCEPTED FOR COUNCIL VACANCY
  The Borough of Middletown is accepting applications to fill a vacant seat representing the Third Ward on the Borough Council. Applications must be filed with the Borough Secretary by 5 p.m., Friday, February 3. This appointment will expire in 2013.

An applicant must: Be at least 18 years of age; be a registered voter and must have been a legal resident in Third Ward both currently, and continuously for at least the past year. Council members are required to continue to maintain residency in the ward they represent throughout their term.

Preliminary interviews of prospective candidates will be conducted by a committee which will include current Third Ward Council members Suzanne M. Sullivan and John Brubaker. Final interviews will be conducted by the whole council, which will appoint the replacement as called for under state law.
