  • Youth Services Specialist - Middletown Public Library
    Middletown Borough is accepting applications for a full time Youth Services Specialist to work in the Borough's owned and operated public library. The successful applicant shall administer the children’s department of library and all youth programming; provide reference and reader’s advisory services; plan and implement programs and services for children and families; select library materials and maintain children’s collections; promote library services to schools and the community through outreach activities. This individual assists with branch circulation activities when needed. This employee shall work under the supervision of Library Director The Minimum Qualifications are a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary or Early Childhood Education, or other Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and one year’s experience working with preschool or elementary school children. Current Pennsylvania driver’s license. The Preferred Credentials are a MLS degree and/or previous library experience. The Borough provides and excellent benefit/compensation package.   • First Class Electric Journeyman Line Worker
    Middletown Borough is accepting applications for first-class linemen. The Boroughs system consists of 69KV transmission and 13.2KV distribution voltages. Responsibilities include but are not limited to maintenance and construction of all Borough-owned system facilities. This work includes being on call for emergencies during evening and weekend hours. Applicant must have proven experience as a journeyman-lineman with both overhead and underground distribution systems, ability to climb utility poles, a valid PA Class A CDL or the ability to obtain one in 3 months, a high school diploma or GED.   • Part-Time Call Center Operator
    A vacancy exists for a Part-Time Telecommunicator I in the Borough’s Public Safety Department. Applicants must be able to follow specific written and oral instructions. Must be able to effectively deal with the public, maintain composure during emergency situations, and function effectively in highly stressful situations. Working knowledge of the physical layout, including road system, of the Borough and immediate vicinity desired. High school diploma or GED required. Compensation shall be in accordance with the Agreement between the Borough of Middletown and Teamsters Local #776.
